I'm Just Not That Into Me
I was driving back from the post office debacle this afternoon feeling pretty sullen, as I often do these days. I was thinking of the saying "There's always something." that people use when trying to express a metaphorical obstacle or annoyance in their life. As far as my post office debacle, that would be one of my "somethings" for today. I think the difference lies in the rest. I may be off base, but I think the average person's "something" is just a nuisance in an otherwise normal-esque or even good day. For a good while now, my "somethings" are add-ons to an already excessive amount of aggravation.
Aggravation may not be the correct word here. Frustration? Disappointment? Those words also apply, but none of them seem to wrap up everything succinctly. As I was driving, I was comparing the normal "me" of the past that would have chalked this afternoon up to being "one of those days" to the current "me" that is starting to find the idea of curling up in a fetal position in a sewer beneath the streets as an option. I've been feeling this festering want for an eject button from everything.
