Out Goes The Furniture
Yesterday, possibly against my better judgment, I passed on buying some new music as well as some new stand up comedy. At one point I had the following discs in hand and ready to purchase:
However, seeing as though I actually had the means for acquiring these goods yesterday, there are other reasons for balking. Tomorrow, for me, there is a possible trifecta of awesomeosity hitting stores. Sons Of Anarchy, easily the best thing on television right now, returns to FX September 8. Tomorrow, season one rages on DVD. I've waited patiently since last December to see these episodes again to prep myself for the return of SAMCRO.
Though I seem to be in a shrinking minority on this one, Cable has their latest opus of sludge called The Failed Convict coming down the pike. I've heard a few clips and I've enjoyed what little I've heard thus far. A few solid listens will determine whether or not is was worth waiting for (though I just found out they still existed about two months ago, so I guess "waiting" is the wrong word).
Finally, the big one.....Heart Of Darkness. Since last night, Red Alert and I have traded barbs back and forth online about tossing furniture and I made mention of sailing a corpse-filled refrigerator down the Des Plaines river to the ultra-violent sounds of one of the best bands that is apparently going away. So, after a 6 year drought, Relapse Records' best kept secret is going to call it a day. Multiple thumbs way down to Relapse for not making Burnt By The Sun a high priority. I plan to discuss these items in further and greater detail in the coming days and weeks.
