I wish I had the means to go the theater more regularly these days. For numerous reasons. Being as though I'm forced to be selective, I saved "The Book Of Eli" on my radar. Saving a full blown review for another time and place, I can safely state that Eli was as good as I thought it might be. Only in a different way. A unique blend of post-apocalyptic road movie and a Leone Western. The ending worked really well and lifted the third act just when it began to feel like it was starting to sag. Denzel Washington was excellent, as always. Gary Oldman.....a villain that seethes class and charisma through a veneer of tyranny. Mila Kunis.....stay tuned.
